Thanksgiving Wishes

Hi to everyone The year is speeding to an end. I hope you all had just as wonderful Thanksgiving as I did. The family was here and we hooted and hollered all day long. There was barely a morsel left on the table. We are a very hungry group. Aunt Clara said she had a phone call from Roby, all the way from hell or what is better known as Afganastan. He is well and we were all very thankful for that. Thomas the youngest of our family was awesome with laughter and glee all day long.
Dragonfly Hill is here waiting patientily for all of you next Spring to come back and enjoy our unique offerings. It was a really awesome first year and I wanted to thank all of you for your support. There are going to be some really fun changes for next year and as soon as we have all the details in place you all will be the first to know.

2010 has been a worldwind of a year.. There is still just a smidge over a month left and I know I'll be letting you know what's going on. For now get out there and get shopping

Only a week away until "BOOtiful Time of Year"

We are doing some real advertising this go around in hopes of getting the word out about our fabulous market Hope you send and invite to all your friends

For now good night, and much more work to be done tomorrow

Thanks to our wonderful group of artisans who participated in our September Artist Market at Dragonfly Hill.

Meredith Toumayan of "Mulberry Marsh Designs" was back with us with her beautiful knitted wear from the wool of her pet sheep and goats. http://www.mulberrymarshdesigns.com

Brittany Sorice of "Knitz and Bitz" rejoined us too with all her special goodies from woven beaded jewelry to knitted baby booties and caps. http://www.knitsandbits.blogspot.com

Kathey Kriegel of "Highfields Pottery" in Byfield, had a wonderful assortment of her hand thrown and slab pottery pieces in warm colors and hues.

Barbara French of "Bubbies Bag's" in Sterling and her daughter Tamah, wowed us with her one of a kind "yo-yo" necklaces and one of a kind fabric purses and envelope bags - gorgeous stuff!

Labor Day Weekend

Yahoo! Earl wasn't so bad for us here on the North Shore of MA and now the humidity is gone and the temps are perfect. Got so much done today and I am excited with what we have to offer for the September Market.

Just found out that Alycia's new line from ESC is going out the door in Seattle A very kind admirer left her a awesome note about how he loves her work.

What an amazing group of dealers we have on Dragonfly Hill. Chris, Faye, and Tracey are going to be opening thier own shop the same weekend as Dragonfly Hill, but that won't slow down those ladies. They will still be here struting their stuff. We have a brand new dealer. Welcome Connie. She is just getting started and we couldn't be more excited that she wants to do it with us.

Hope you all enjoy the perfect weather

Talking 'bout heat wave

Hey everyone, Hope you are all coping with the extreme heat. But wait there is Hurricane Earl just inching up the coast line in our direction. That won't get me down. I have been so busy gathering up some really cool stuff you all of you. We are coming into such a amazing and colorful time of year. And I'm sure most of you are looking forward to alittle relief from the heat.

I love the fall. It's still nice and warm, the nights are cool and the sleeping is perfect. Then the brillant golds, reds, and oranges make there arrival and it is like a mass color splash everywhere you look.

Dragonfly Hill's September market will follow natures lead and offer the warmth of Fall. There will be wonderful furniture, lots of linens, funky and gently used clothing, collectibles, jewelry, orginal one of a kind items and so so much more.

Hope you can stop by September 16-18. I'm sure you will be delighted.

First Flight of Dragonfly - April 15th thru 17th

Sister-in-laws,
Leslie and Alycia Matthews are making their dream come true. We’ve always wanted to have an antique business together and on Thursday, April 15 through Saturday the 17th we begin our new adventure - “Market on Dragonfly Hill”. Leslie has always called her home “Dragonfly Hill,” the name comes from all the dragonfly’s that whirl around the property.

The Market on Dragonfly Hill will be a unique shopping experience, set in Leslie’s beautiful new barn that she and her husband Tony built, located up their winding drive in Byfield. It’s a once a month, 3-day event, from April through November. Each month is a new theme - this month’s Grand Opening theme is “Swing into Spring”. Outside of the barn and in the greenhouse will be filled with patio and gardening delights.

Leslie has been an antique/vintage dealer in shops in and around the Newburyport area for years, she is also one of the dealers at Flukes & Finds & Friends in downtown Nbpt. Alycia is an artist that works in papier mache sculptures, which she will be featuring at Dragonfly Hill, but she also likes to get her power tools out and create new furniture from old pieces. Leslie and Alycia both like to be “Green” by repurposing and refurbishing old furniture, giving it a new life.

We also have eight local antique dealers setting up their wares inside and outside of the barn too. Treasures both old and new; Vintage furniture, refurbished, repurposed, shabby chic, cottage and cabin style, collectibles, linens, art, jewelry, and so much more.

What makes Dragonfly Hill unique is that every Saturday of market, local artists and handcrafters will be setting up their tents on Dragonfly Hill’s lawn for an Artist Market, beginning on Saturday, April 17.

What a beautiful day! The sun is shining and there is no snow on the horizon!

Don't you think it's a perfect time to get out and shop for your "Special Someone"?

Dragonfly Hill is presently doing business at Flukes & Finds & Friends, in Newburyport. We have tons of great furniture, jewelry, linens, vintage keepsakes to choose from. Take a walk downtown, enjoy a meal at one of Newburyport's fine eateries and then go do a little shopping, at Flukes and don't forget to ask where "Dragonfly Hill's" spot is. I will be working all day Saturday, so I hope you stop in and say hello .
It's also the Annual Eagle Festival. There will be a lot of Free Family Fun things to do all around town.
Thanks!
Leslie

Have a great trip Cyn!!

Yikes, We have some really cool stuff in the shop right now you should check out. Great comfy sofa's, dressers, very country french dinning-room set. So much. So hope everyone is hanging in with what seems like an endless cold snap. Spring will be here soon and now is the time to start planning your own new personal awakening.
Our great pal Cindy is heading off to Egypt on Monday, she tells us something about a hot date wit King Tut. What a great adventure she has in store for her. I don't know about all of you but I'll be eagerly awaiting all the pics and stories. This will be something to talk about for sometime to come. Our beloved Miss "V" is off on an adventure of her own. She and her husband Hank will be "down under" for the next 4 weeks. I hear it has been a life long dream for Hank. I'm sure it will become a dream come true. And then there is Gail, she has jetted off to Mexico, a place that her heart calls her back to yearly. She and so many other wonderful folks go and help to educate children who would otherwise be forgotten.
Looks like we will be in the lucky group this weekend. The snow will stay south of us.
Have a great weekend

Winter Chill

Hello and happy weekend. Wow is everyone shivering too! But don't fret it doesn't keep the spirits here at Dragonfly Hill down. We are really getting into some serious gear. Just alittle over 2 months and the "Once a Month Market Place" on Dragonfly Hill will be open for biz. We are bringing in some great local artisans in addition to some really great Antiques, Collectibles and very Green Refurbished furniture and accessories. Hope everyone has a great weekend and go Super Bowl!!
